Military hemostatic sponge Axiostat MIL88
AXIOSTAT MIL300 – hemostatic gauze for military use, which stops moderate to heavy bleeding due to:
– gunshot and shrapnel wounds of small caliber
– arterial or venous bleeding
– stab wounds
– deep penetrating wounds
Bleeding control based on PBT™ (protonated bioadhesive technology):
– works on unique mucoadhesion with blood and tissues
– stops heparinized and hypothermic bleeding
– stops moderate to heavy bleeding within minutes of application
– acts independently of the natural blood coagulation mechanism
– positively charged Axiostat attracts negatively charged blood to form a strong and stable clot
Producing country: India.
How to use:
1. Remove excess blood, locate the source of bleeding, pack the wound with Axiostat gauze to stop the flow, applying constant pressure.
2. Discard excess gauze and continue applying pressure for 3 minutes until bleeding stops. Do not remove the Axiostat gauze to see if the bleeding has stopped.
3. Use a secondary dressing around the injury site to secure the gauze in one place and prevent further contamination of the wound.
4. To remove: unfold the secondary dressing, soak the Axiostat in copious amounts of saline, and carefully remove the gauze from the wound.
