Remote Temperature Monitoring (RTM)

Advantages of DTM:

  • The most budget option for pharmacies, vaccination points, medicine storage rooms in hospitals or clinics, that is, where it is necessary to control from one to several points within one room
  • The loggers are easily and simply placed and removed due to magnetic fastening, the system is easy to move to another object, if necessary.
  • Simple installation, which can be performed personally by the user.
  • The wireless system can be used to map equipment and premises (search for critical points).

Features of DTM:

  • The radio signal from the logger can be blocked by external obstacles (pallets with goods, walls, etc.) or radio interference in the air.
  • Dependence of battery charge consumption on the transducer polling period (the more often, the faster the battery will run down).
  • The practical polling period of the logger is no more than once a minute, recommended – once every 5 or 10 minutes.
  • The need to pay a monthly subscription fee for access to the ColdChainCloud cloud software and for mobile Internet.

Remote temperature monitoring (RTM) based on GSM and WiFi loggers consists of the following components:

  • Wireless GSM and WIFI humidity and temperature loggers use a built-in GSM or Wi-Fi modem to transmit data to a cloud server. The device works on the principle: woke up, measured, transmitted, fell asleep. In the absence of communication with the operator’s tower or Wi-Fi router, the logger saves the received humidity and temperature data to its own non-volatile flash memory. A high-contrast OLED screen is used for indication, which displays humidity and temperature values ​​​​for all measurement channels. In addition, the display shows the signal level, battery charge and serial number. The logger comes with a rubber boot to protect against shocks and falls and has a built-in magnetic mount. The logger has two IP67 M8 connectors, to which one or two external Pt1000 thermal transducers or an SHT humidity and air temperature transducer are connected. The device also has a USB-C connector for connecting a battery charger. The replaceable lithium battery of the data logger type 18650 can be quickly replaced as needed by the user.
  • ColdChainCloud software, located in the cloud, which provides a user-friendly WEB HMI interface built on web technologies. The application is designed to perform all the necessary functions of the monitoring system in real time, namely, collecting, processing, displaying and archiving data received from converters, alarm signaling, database storage, logging user actions and events, administering access, user roles and rights, exporting data, creating reports and graphs, etc. To access the ColdChainCloud application, users must have the Internet and the Google Chrome browser.

Features of placing loggers in refrigerators

Single- and dual-channel GSM and WIFI temperature loggers are used to control the air temperature in refrigerators (freezers, refrigerated chests, climate chambers). The logger itself is placed on the refrigerator body using a magnetic mount. One or two wired external thermal transducers are inserted inside the refrigerator chamber. The cable is inserted either through a technological hole in the refrigerator (if there is one), or through the door (a special thermal transducer with a flat cable adapter is supplied so that a gap does not form at the cable entry point when the door is closed). If the refrigerator has two chambers with different temperatures, then two external thermal transducers are used, which are connected to the logger via two M5 connectors (model DLT-20-2Pt). For refrigerator chambers, a hole is made in the sandwich panel, flanges with sealing entries are installed on both sides, through which a wired external thermal transducer is inserted into the room.

Cold Chain Cloud Software

Cold Chain Cloud is a cloud-based SCADA system that solves two main tasks:
1. Collecting, monitoring and storing data from a large number of measuring instruments (loggers, sensors, recorders, etc.) in one place. Measuring instruments can interact with Cold Chain Cloud using various data exchange protocols and be located in different geographical locations;
2. Providing authorized user access to measurement data via a web interface and displaying this data in a user-friendly form.
Cold Chain Cloud is a platform-independent system. The user interacts with Cold Chain Cloud via a web browser. In this case, the user does not need to install any additional software on the computer.

The advantage of Cold Chain Cloud is that the program is built on a client-server architecture. This architecture allows you to transfer part of the data processing load from the server to the client’s gadget or computer, and thus increases the performance and reliability of the system.
On the one hand, the server part provides interaction via the server API with measuring equipment (loggers, sensors, recorders, etc.). On the other hand, the server part interacts with the client part via the client API, giving it data regarding the user’s request. Thus, the main functions of the server part are collection, primary processing, storage, data backup and provision of data for the client part.
The server part is software written in the JavaScript (Node.Js) and C++ programming languages. The server part runs under the Linux OS and is hosted on servers in the data center. The client part is a JavaScript (AngularJS) application that is automatically downloaded to the user’s web browser and runs until the application tab is closed. The client application provides interfaces for user interaction with real-time data, such as: graphical display of archived data from all devices, viewing graphs, archives, logical events, alarms, various widgets, system settings, and more.

Cold Chain Cloud provides the user with a flexible system of user rights, which is pre-configured by the system administrator.
Users can be divided into different groups with different powers and roles: administrators, operators, users, etc. Depending on the rights granted, the user can change or view only the data and devices available to him.
Online data received from different devices can be combined into a group according to common characteristics. You can build graphs, reports, tables for groups, and also set alarm thresholds.

The Cold Chain Cloud system allows the user to monitor and control devices remotely in real time, display data archives, create graphs, tables, reports for certain periods of time, export data to a PDF file. In the graphs, you can change the scale along the X and Y axes, add and remove additional axes, configure axes, configure color, line type, etc. You can display both one selected parameter and a group of parameters on the detailed graph. Above the main area for building a detailed graph, a “time ruler” widget with a preview of graph trends has been implemented. This widget allows the user to quickly and intuitively mark the time period he needs for building detailed graphs.
Cold Chain Cloud has implemented a flexible system for configuring alarm settings. You can set alarm thresholds, as well as configure users to whom alarm messages are sent via Telegram or any other Internet messenger, or via e-mail. Depending on the availability of communication with the devices, the data being in normal, pre-alarm or emergency state, the color of the data values ​​and the color of the groups changes in online mode. In addition, the operator connected in online mode sees a flashing alarm icon at the top of the screen, which stops flashing only after the operator confirms (acknowledges) the given alarm.

Cold Chain Cloud provides input of a technological log, a user action log and a system log. The technological log records all alarms and failures in technological equipment. It also records the user’s reaction to alarms: which user confirmed (acknowledged) them and when. The user action log records changes to the Cold Chain Cloud program settings and configurations, projects, groups and data made by specific users at a specific time.
Cold Chain Cloud has the ability to create mnemonics of technological processes in the form of widgets with active elements. Widgets allow you to visualize the monitoring and control process in real time. Widgets are an option that is created to order for a specific technological process and agreed with the Customer according to his technical task.
